Post 2: This Week In Science!

The things I did in science this week was re-kill a frog. We had 4 different jobs in this process. They are the Surgeon, Assistant, Navigator, and the Photographer. I was the Assistant. My job was to help the Surgeon with the dissection. During the two days, I was grossed out. Science the Surgeon was out for the first day, I had to begin the dissection, or as I say, the 'Killing'. I cut open our frog, Steve, and apologized multiple times. I felt so bad. During the second day, we cut out the organs of Steve's body, emptying out his body. Even more disgusting than the first day. I'm sorry Steve.

During the two day process of the dissection, I learned many things about Steve. One thing I learned is that a frog's tongue seems to shrink when it's dead, because Steve's tongue was small. Another thing I learned is that most of there organ are similar to ours. Just like humans, they have hearts, livers, kidneys, stomachs, balls, and/or eggs. The only difference is that their livers are over their hearts, and the balls are on the inside. Very interesting, and awkward.

This picture shows the beginning of the dissection. I chose this picture because its showing how the frog is suppose to be cut.

This picture is showing part of its body. I chose this picture because it's lets you see half of its body.

This picture shows the inside of our frog. I chose this picture because its giving detail on how the inside of a frog looks.

This is Danielle cutting out the organs. I chose this because it's showing one of the further steps of the dissection.

This picture shows the heart, lungs, liver, skin, stomach, etc. I chose this picture because it's showing the organs of our frog.

Post 1: First Impression

My opinion about frogs..hmm. I like them, though I don't study them too much. When I lived in Virginia, I've seen many frogs at the creek near my house. I never really cut a frog open before either, and I really don't want to. But I've seen some parts of a frog before, because my friend accidently stepped on one before...it was gross to look at. >.< But yea. With blogging I use Tumblr and sometimes Twitter. I never used Blogger before so this is my first time . :)
